Since the March 11 the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake, the people of the Netherlands have been conducting a variety of charity events and activities to support Japan. In one such action, people living in the Netherlands, including Japanese citizens, called on each other in April to send relief to the disaster-struck areas. Calling for supplies through social networking websites, the group collected 26 boxed of sanitary goods, clothing, stationary and toys from around the country.
The Yusen Logistics Group offered transportation support for this activity, for which Yusen Logistics (Europe) B.V. and Yusen Logistics (Benelux) B.V., headquartered in the Netherlands, coordinated domestic collection and shipping, and Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd., on the importing side in Japan, provided support for import customs and delivery to the disaster-struck areas. Supplies were delivered on April 26 to their planned destinations of a school for the disabled, an infant home and a non-profit organization.
The children in the affected areas who received stationary and toys gave huge thanks for the heartwarming relief from the Netherlands.
The Yusen Logistics Group, as a general logistics company with a global network, continues to use its logistics services to offer disaster recovery support. We offer our heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the disaster victims and their families, and our sincere wishes for the earliest possible recovery of the affected areas.
