Yusen Logistics makes arrangement for Japan's first international transportation of SAF cargo flight that helps reduce CO2 emissions

Yusen Logistics Co., Ltd. (President: Toru Kamiyama) participates in "SAF Flight Initiative: For the Next Generation" and arranged Japan's first international transportation from Japan to Germany on September 29 by SAF ⁽*⁾ cargo flight. "SAF Flight Initiative: For the Next Generation" is a program that ALL NIPPON AIRWAYS CO., LTD. (ANA) (President: Yuji Hirako) has created to promote the use of SAF.

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) approved a resolution for the global air transport industry to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, as efforts are underway to achieve virtually zero emissions of greenhouse gases worldwide. We are participating in "SAF Flight Initiative: For the Next Generation", a program sponsored by ANA to promote the use of SAF. As a cross-cutting initiative to help in reducing CO2, we have arranged Japan's first international transportation by SAF cargo flight. In this transportation, we have effectively reduced 10 tons of CO2. We will continue working to promote the use of SAF, and as a global supply chain logistics company, we will actively work to reduce CO2 emissions in international transportation.

We define "OUR MISSION" to become the world’s preferred supply chain logistics company – applying insight, service quality and innovation to create sustainable growth for business and society. In addition to improving transparency, efficiency, and crisis responsiveness in every aspect of the supply chain going forward, we will be required to take even more environmental and social responsibilities into consideration. As a partner generating sustainable growth with our customers, we will provide optimal supply chain logistics services and promote initiatives with a sustainable long-term perspective.
