Yusen Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH strengthens position in the western centre of Germany

November 2021. On 02.11.2021, Yusen Logistics (Deutschland) GmbH opened a new commercial property in Düsseldorf-Reisholz. The contracts for the almost 20,000 m² logistics space were signed at the end of February 2021, the groundbreaking ceremony was held in April 2021, and the state-of-the-art customised logistics property was ready for occupation just 6 months later. "There was simply not enough space in the warehouses available to us at our other locations. We were already unable to meet some enquiries," says Dirk Dumnick, General Manager Contract Logistics, describing the reasons for the expansion. "Furthermore, we are proud that the facility was built with environmentally friendly technology and renewable raw materials in line with the DGNB Gold standard."

The Düsseldorf-Reisholz location is ideally situated for the logistics service provider with Asian roots for several reasons. In addition to the good motorway connection that Reisholz has, the commercial property itself is also suitable for meeting the growing demands of Yusen’s existing and new customers. The warehouse layout is suitable for storage of goods and also value-added services, such as labelling, goods finishing and repackaging of articles (e.g. set formation). "Our cosmetics industry and other retail sectors customers are grateful that we can offer this service from a single location," says Dumnick. Toshikazu Shiota, Managing Director of Yusen Logistics Germany, adds: “We have long-standing loyal customers, but also some new customers whom we have been able to convince with our quality of service. Building a long-term partnership and growing together with our customers is part of our DNA. That's why we like to invest for our customers.”


Representatives from Yusen’s European headquarters also attended the opening: The ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by Hideo Saito, Chief Regional Officer of Europe Region, Yusen Logistics (Europe) together with their German management team. The ceremony was also attended by Yusen’s key customers Mitsubishi Electric, Rockfon and ECOVACS Europe GmbH. 


With the property in Düsseldorf-Reisholz, the logistics service provider owns its eighth contract logistics location strengthening its position in the western centre of Germany. Düsseldorf-Reisholz forms a strong triangle with Langenfeld, Düsseldorf-Rath and Duisburg with over 100,000 m² of warehouse space. This brings the total number of branches in Germany to ten.
