Yusen Logistics (Korea) Co., Ltd. Privacy Policy

Yusen Logistics (Korea) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the "Company") shall establish and disclose the Privacy Policy to protect the personal information of the data subjects and to deal with the difficulties of data subjects swiftly and smoothly under Article 30 of the Personal Information Protection Act as follows.

 

Article 1 (The purpose for which personal information is processed)

Company process the personal information it collects for the following purposes and does not use it for any purposes other than the intended one. Exceptions shall be made in cases where actions are taken with separate consent pursuant to Article 18 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

1. Execution and performance of service contracts with customers and partner companies

  • Performance of contracts (e.g., verification of the contracting party, negotiation of a contract, deciding whether to execute a contract, delivery of products, issuance and receipt of payments)
  • Management of the contract terms, order status, delivery status, details of the issuance and receipt of payments, electronic data processing
  • Transmission of notices and certification of contents, filing of application for provisional attachment and lawsuits
  • Provision of customer support, handling of complaints, performance of statutory obligations

 

2. Marketing and promotional activities

  • Business activities related to the services provided by the Company and Yusen Group

 

3. Personnel management

  • Recruitment, evaluation, education, resignation/retirement of employees
  • Issuance of proof of employment, certificate of career, certificate of resignation/retirement and confirmation of the relevant facts
  • Maintaining and managing the Company’s internal systems, collecting evidence of and preventing possible crimes and corruption within the Company,
  • Sharing of contacts and establishing an emergency contact network
  • Handling of customer complaints, preparing for future lawsuits (application for provisional attachment, filing of complaint), performing statutory obligations

 

Article 2 (The period for processing and retaining personal information)

The Company shall process and retain the personal information within the period for retaining and using the personal information pursuant to the statutes or the period for retaining and using the personal information agreed to when the personal information is collected from the data subject.

 

Article 3 (Providing personal information to a third party)

① The company shall process the personal information of data subject only within the scope specified in Article 1 and provide the personal information to a third party only in cases falling under Article 17 of the Personal Information Protection Act such as consent of the information subject and special provisions of the law.

Article 4 (Outsourcing of personal information processing)

① Company shall outsource personal information processing to a third party as follows.

Article 5 (Rights and obligations of data subjects, and how to exercise the rights)

① A data subject may request to access, correct, delete, or suspend the processing of his/her personal information provided to the company at any time, and company shall, without delay, take necessary measures after the personal authentication procedure as requested by the data subject.

② Company shall not use or provide such personal information until correction or deletion is completed when the data subject requests correction or deletion of personal information.

 

Article 6 (Items of personal information to be processed)

Company shall process the following personal information items.

Article 7 (Destruction of personal information)

① Company shall destroy personal information without delay when the personal information becomes unnecessary owing to the expiry of the retention period, attainment of the purpose of processing the personal information, etc.: Provided, this shall not apply where the retention of such personal information is mandatory by other statutes.

② When company destroys personal information pursuant to paragraph ①, necessary measures to block recovery and revival shall be taken.

③ Where company is obliged to retain, rather than destroy, personal information pursuant to the proviso to paragraph ①, the relevant personal information or personal information files shall be stored and managed separately from other personal information.

 

Article 8 (Measures to ensure the safety of personal information)

Company shall take the following measures to ensure the safety of personal information:

1. Managerial measures: Formulate and implement an internal management plan for the safe processing of personal information, [regular education of employees], etc.

2. Technical measures: Control access to personal information and restrict the authority to access personal information[, install an access control system, encrypt particular identification information, install vaccine programs]

3. Physical measures: set up a secure, physical storage space to keep personal information safely or a locking system.

4. To build the internal control system to prevent the divulgence, abuse, and misuse of personal information

5. How to check your video data; details regarding the locations

An individual may check his/her personal video data by contacting the relevant employee-in-charge at each place of business in advance and visiting the subject establishment.

 

※ The Company records/manages details regarding the use of personal video data for purposes other than those disclosed above, provision of personal video data to third parties, destruction of personal video data, and requests to access personal video data.  Any personal video data whose storage period has expired is permanently deleted in a way that the data cannot be restored or recovered.  (As such, in the case of hard-copies and paper documents, the data is shredded or incinerated). 

※ Video data may only be accessed by authorized persons in accordance with the Company’s internal guidelines, and is stored in encrypted form.

 

Article 11 (Enforcement date)
